Cedar Rapids, Iowa – A teenager from Cedar Rapids dedicated his Saturday to distributing gift cards to individuals facing homelessness.

Thirteen-year-old Daniel Camp distributed nearly 200 gift cards, in addition to clothing and blankets.

“Many caring individuals gathered here today who truly needed this,” Camp remarked.

Gift cards are available for popular spots such as Caseys, Wendys, and Chick-Fil-A. Since the age of 5, Camp has been motivated by a strong desire to assist others.

“They resemble us, yet they have experienced much more,” Camp stated. “You simply need to be patient with them.” “Familiarize yourself with them,” he stated.

Last weekend’s icy conditions caused a delay in the giveaway at Green Square Meals located in downtown Cedar Rapids.

Camp mentioned that this allowed him to gather additional donations, such as clothing.
“There are definitely more clothes than there were last week.” “I truly appreciate that,” Camp expressed.

Camp received assistance in gathering donations from his aunt, Veronica Johnson-Browning. She expressed her pride in her nephew.

“He is a remarkable young person.” “He’s been at it for such a long time that he’s truly an impressive 13-year-old,” Johnson-Browning remarked.

Camp announced his intention to organize another event in the near future.
