Over 2M COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered to Iowa residents

Iowa health officials are reporting 9,532 more people have completed their vaccine series, meaning 895,872 individuals are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

As of Wednesday morning, the state’s COVID-19 vaccine dashboard shows 2,006,106 total vaccine doses have been administered to Iowa residents.

Between 10 a.m. Monday and 10 a.m. Tuesday, there were 631 new, confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state. So far, Iowa has reported 361,314 people have tested positive for the virus

Of those who have tested positive, 342,409 have recovered, an increase of 637 since yesterday.

Iowa’s COVID-19 dashboard shows seven additional virus-related deaths have been reported, bringing the state’s death toll to 5,893.

Subtracting the number of recoveries (342,409) and the number of deaths (5,893) from the total number of cases (361,314) shows there are currently 13,012 active positive cases in the state.

The latest report from the Iowa Department of Public Health says there are 219 hospitalizations due to the virus, which is up from 215 reported Tuesday. Of those hospitalizations, 54 are in the ICU and 20 are on ventilators.

In Iowa, there were 3,267 test results reported in the last 24 hours, and a total of 1,689,310 people have been tested for COVID-19.
