Iowa reports over 885,000 people fully vaccinated against COVID-19
Iowa health officials are reporting 3,557 more people have completed their vaccine series, meaning 886,340 individuals are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
As of Tuesday morning, the state’s COVID-19 vaccine dashboard shows 1,989,825 total vaccine doses have been administered to Iowa residents.
Between 10 a.m. Monday and 10 a.m. Tuesday, there were 549 new, confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state. So far, Iowa has reported 360,683 people have tested positive for the virus
Of those who have tested positive, 341,772 have recovered, an increase of 829 since yesterday.
Iowa’s COVID-19 dashboard shows five additional virus-related deaths have been reported, bringing the state’s death toll to 5,886.
Subtracting the number of recoveries (341,772) and the number of deaths (5,886) from the total number of cases (360,683) shows there are currently 13,025 active positive cases in the state.
The latest report from the Iowa Department of Public Health says there are 215 hospitalizations due to the virus, which is up from 205 reported Monday. Of those hospitalizations, 51 are in the ICU and 19 are on ventilators.
In Iowa, there were 3,082 test results reported in the last 24 hours, and a total of 1,686,043 people have been tested for COVID-19.
