Cedar Rapids man faces life in prison for killing his family
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – A Cedar Rapids man was taken into custody after killing his sister and parent at their house.
First responders were at the scene around 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday after receiving a call. The discovered three people dead from gunshot wound and one person injured in the house.
The victims were later identified as 68-year-old Melissa Ferne Jackson, her husband, 61-year-old Jan Perry Jackson and their daughter, 19-year old Sabrina Hana Jackson.
The injured person was their son, 20-year old Alexander Jackson. He was also found at the house suffering from gunshot wound to the foot and was transported to a hospital.
Alexander was taken to the Linn County jail after being released from hospital.
He’s charged with three counts of first-degree murder. Alexander may be sentenced to life in prison for these charges.
