Man arrested for vehicle theft, led Cedar Rapids police on pursuit
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – A man of Alburnett was arrested after he led police on a brief pursuit in a stolen vehicle in Cedar Rapids on Tuesday night.
A person approached to Cedar Rapids police officer to report a car theft at the Casey’s at 235 Edgewood Road Northwest around 7 p.m.
As officers were talking to the victim, the stolen vehicle passed nearby headed eastbound on E Avenue Northwest.
The victim confirmed the driver was not known to him.
According to officers, the suspect ran away from the car after the pursuit and was arrested while hiding in a house garage at the 100 block of 18th Street.
The driver was identified as 40-year-old Ryan O’Green. He faces traffic related and theft charges.
