Cedar Rapids man sentenced for distributing pounds of meth and gun possession
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – A Cedar Rapids man was sentenced on Monday, April 12 to more than 26 years in federal prison for distributing pounds of methamphetamine.
60-year-old Tony Brown plead guilty to conspiracy to distribute meth on October 13, 2020.
Brown admitted in a plea agreement that during a 3-month period in 2019 he received at least one pound of meth a month that he intended to resell.
Brown also admitted to being involved in a burglary in February of 2019, where Cedar Rapids police found him in a car outside of the residence. His DNA was found on two guns in the car, that he possessed as part of his meth selling operation.
Brown has been sentenced to 320 months and 14 days in federal prison and must also be on supervised release for five years. He is currently in the custody of US Marshals until he is transported to a federal prison.
