Cedar Rapids police arrest suspect after shots fired
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KWWL) — On Sunday at approximately 6:43 p.m., Cedar Rapids police responded to the 1600 block of 30 Street Northwest for the report of shots fired.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers were told that a male suspect had fired his handgun into the air, threatened a 23-year-old male, and then ran off.
Officers found the suspect, Nicholas Marcus Johnson, 27 of Cedar Rapids, sitting in a car at 800 blocks of D Avenue Northwest at approximately 7:57 p.m.
Johnson was arrested for Reckless Use of a Firearm and Possession of a Controlled Substance-Marijuana.
