Cyclones capitalizing on promise of Campbell era
For the fourth straight season, Iowa State found itself in control of it’s Big 12 title game destiny in the second half of the season. With their backs against the wall in Austin, it appeared the Cyclones might once again come a play or two short of a historic season, but this time, they pulled through. The process Matt Campbell and his staff have stayed true to finally paid off, lifting Iowa State to a win at Texas, despite falling well short of their best football. The Cyclones didn’t need a miracle to reach the Big 12 Championship Game, they just needed to come through.
