Iowa City Police investigating an incident where a woman sustained several gunshot wounds
Iowa City, Iowa – After receiving a call that shots had been fired at 2:24 in the morning, the Iowa City Police Department sent officers to the H. Bar located at 220 S. Van Buren Street in Iowa City. Additionally, police were notified that at least one person had been shot in a nearby alley.
At the site, responding officers found a woman who had been shot several times. The victim received treatment at the scene and was transported to a hospital.
The initial investigation showed that there were several people in the alley at the time of the shooting and that the suspect drove away from the crime scene.
An investigation into the incident is still underway and the Iowa City Police are urging anyone with information regarding this incident to call 319-356-5275. Anyone providing information that might lead to the arrest of the person responsible is eligible for a $1,000 reward.
Authorities are also asking anyone who has surveillance cameras in the area to step forward.
