Iowa
Iowa is One of the Most Irish States in the U.S.
It’s March! This year is flying. Can you believe that St. Patrick’s Day is already coming up? On Wednesday, March 17 you’ll be seeing a lot of green (and maybe even some leprechauns). The Irish holiday is widely popular and celebrated by people of many cultures. This has us thinking though, how many Iowans celebrating are actually Irish?
It turns out that Iowa is pretty Irish too! We came in at #12 on the list of most Irish states in the U.S. In fact, Dubuque is the 11th most Irish city, according to the report. Iowa is 13% Irish with 408,494 residents that identify as Irish. Pretty cool! And all the more reason to celebrate. Whether you’re celebrating your heritage, or just celebrating for fun, Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
