Maid-Rite in Cedar Rapids will close
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – Next Monday, the Maid-Rite located at 621 1st Avenue SW in Cedar Rapids will close.
In a Facebook post on Friday, the owners said the decision was not made hastily and announced the closure, which is scheduled for January 15.
Although there are a lot of variables, the proprietors stated that it ultimately boils down to concentrating our efforts and assets on long-term objectives within our hometown, where our dedication and aspirations for the future are firmly ingrained.
The proprietors expressed their hope in the article that Cedar Rapids’ oldest sandwich shop’s tradition will endure.
The proprietors added in the article, “Our longtime General Manager, Jill, who has devoted more than 20 years of her life to this business, has expressed interest in possibly carrying on the tradition.” “We are hopeful about the future and are collaborating closely with her to investigate this possibility.”
The Maid-Rite on 1st Avenue is the only one in Cedar Rapids, despite the fact that there are other sites around Iowa.
