Mar. 21: More than 15% of Iowans have been fully vaccinated

IOWA — There were 317 new, confirmed cases from 10 a.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Friday, according to the state’s dashboard, bringing the state’s total number of cases to 345,676.

The state’s website says that of the 345,676 people who have tested positive, 327,860 have recovered. This is 215 more recoveries than what the state reported Saturday.

The state’s death toll is 5,674, which is 2 more number reported than yesterday.

Subtracting the number of recoveries (327,860) and the number of deaths (5,674) from the total number of cases (345,676) shows there are currently 12,142 active positive cases in the state.

As of Sunday morning, there were 40 patients hospitalized in Iowa within the last 24 hours and the total number of hospitalizations is 174, an increase from 172 hospitalized the day before. Of those, 40 are in the ICU (up from 38), and 16 are on ventilators (down from 20).

On Saturday, the state reported zero long-term care facility COVID-19 outbreaks in Iowa.

In Iowa, there were 1,785 people tested in the last 24 hours, and a total of 1,612,715 people have been tested for COVID-19.

As of Saturday morning, according to the state’s COVID-19 vaccine dashboard, 1,210,137 total doses have been administered to Iowa residents and 485,737 individuals have completed the series. This is 17,322 more completed vaccinations than Saturday.

BLACK HAWK COUNTY

As of 10 a.m. Sunday, the Black Hawk COVID-19 dashboard is showing 12 new cases since 10 a.m. Thursday, leaving a total of 16,206 cases. There have been 19 additional recoveries, leaving a total of 14,506. There have been two additional deaths, leaving a total of 298 deaths. In Black Hawk County, 20,982 residents have been fully vaccinated.

LINN COUNTY

As of 10 a.m. Sunday, the Linn County COVID-19 dashboard is showing 12 new cases since 10 a.m. Saturday, leaving a total of 19,729 cases. There have been 16 additional recoveries, leaving a total of 18,396 recoveries. There have been no additional deaths, leaving a total of 332 deaths in the county. There are 14 patients currently hospitalized in the county. In Linn County, 36,838 residents have been fully vaccinated.

JOHNSON COUNTY

According to the state’s dashboard at 10 a.m. Sunday, there are 14 new positive cases reported in Johnson County since 10 a.m. Saturday. This brings the total to 13,326 reported cases. There have been a total of 12,860 recoveries, 9 more reported than yesterday. There were no additional deaths, leaving a total of 76. In Johnson County, 28,854 residents have been fully vaccinated.

DUBUQUE COUNTY

According to the state’s dashboard at 10 a.m. Sunday, there were 6 additional positive cases reported in Dubuque County since 10 a.m. Saturday. This brings the total to 12,558 reported cases. There have been 8 additional recoveries reported, leaving a total of 12,051. There have been no additional deaths reported, leaving a total of 200. In Dubuque County, 17,204 residents have been fully vaccinated.
