Mar. 29: Iowa reports 140 new COVID-19 cases and 7 additional deaths
IOWA — There were 140 new, confirmed cases from 10 a.m. Sunday to 10 a.m. Monday, according to the state’s dashboard, bringing the state’s total number of cases to 349,735.
The state’s website says that of the 349,735 people who have tested positive, 331,668 have recovered. This is 215 more recoveries than what the state reported Sunday.
The state’s death toll is 5,725, which 7 more than the number reported yesterday.
Subtracting the number of recoveries (331,668) and the number of deaths (5,725) from the total number of cases (349,735) shows there are currently 12,342 active positive cases in the state.
As of Monday morning, there were 38 patients hospitalized in Iowa within the last 24 hours and the total number of hospitalizations is 196, an increase from 192 hospitalized the day before. Of those, 44 are in the ICU (up from 42), and 9 are on ventilators (the same number as reported yesterday).
In Iowa, there were 1,036 people tested in the last 24 hours, and a total of 1,631,949 people have been tested for COVID-19.
As of Monday morning, according to the state’s COVID-19 vaccine dashboard, 1,409,827 total doses have been administered to Iowa residents and 579,150 individuals have completed the series. This is 12,652 more completed vaccinations than Sunday.
BLACK HAWK COUNTY
As of 10 a.m. Monday, the Black Hawk COVID-19 dashboard is showing 11 new cases since 10 a.m. Sunday, leaving a total of 16,334 cases. There have been 12 additional recoveries, leaving a total of 14,602. There have been no additional deaths, leaving a total of 300 deaths. In Black Hawk County, 25,078 residents have been fully vaccinated.
LINN COUNTY
As of 10 a.m. Monday, the Linn County COVID-19 dashboard is showing 22 new cases since 10 a.m. Sunday, leaving a total of 19,844 cases. There have been 30 additional recoveries, leaving a total of 18,523 recoveries. There have been no additional deaths, leaving a total of 335 deaths in the county. There are 13 patients currently hospitalized in the county. In Linn County, 43,128 residents have been fully vaccinated.
JOHNSON COUNTY
According to the state’s dashboard at 10 a.m. Monday, there are 18 new positive cases reported in Johnson County since 10 a.m. Sunday. This brings the total to 13,484 reported cases. There have been a total of 12,992 recoveries, 12 more reported than yesterday. There was one additional death, leaving a total of 78. In Johnson County, 34,241 residents have been fully vaccinated.
DUBUQUE COUNTY
According to the state’s dashboard at 10 a.m. Monday, there were 7 additional positive cases reported in Dubuque County since 10 a.m. Sunday. This brings the total to 12,679 reported cases. There have been 7 additional recoveries reported, leaving a total of 12,178. There have been no additional deaths reported, leaving a total of 200. In Dubuque County, 21,376 residents have been fully vaccinated.
