Mar. 7: Iowa reports over 263,000 residents have completed their vaccine series
State health officials are reporting 40,587 more vaccine doses have been administered to Iowa residents. This means a reported 833,624 Iowans have received a dose of the vaccine.
So far, the state’s COVID-19 vaccination dashboard shows 263,782 people have received their second dose, completing their vaccine series.
As vaccinations continue across the state, total COVID-19 hospitalizations have dropped to 167, a decrease of three since yesterday.
Iowa Department of Public Health data shows there were 338 new, confirmed cases from 10 a.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday, meaning 339,547 individuals have tested positive for COVID-19.
The state’s website says of the people who have tested positive, 320,056 have recovered. This is 273 more recoveries than what the state reported yesterday.
The state has reported six additional deaths connected to COVID-19, bringing Iowa’s death toll to 5,558.
Subtracting the number of recoveries (320,056) and the number of deaths (5,558) from the total number of cases (339,547) shows there are currently 13,933 active positive cases in the state.
In Iowa, the results for 1,936 more individuals were reported, and a total of 1,577,002 individuals have been tested for COVID-19.
