Marshalltown police identify victim in deadly Casey’s shooting; suspect still on the run
UPDATE (4:51 p.m. Monday)
Marshalltown police have identified the victim of Monday’s deadly shooting at a Casey’s on North 3rd Avenue.
Michael Ray West, 48 of Marshalltown, died in the shooting. West was an employee at the convenience store.

On Monday, February 15, 2021, at approximately 3:07am, police were called to the Casey’s, at 111 North 3rd Avenue, to investigate a shooting.
When they arrived, police officers found a man with a gunshot wound . That man later died.
Law enforcement is looking for you help with any information related to this deadly shooting.
They are looking for a man seen leaving the area wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants.
If you know who this man is you should call 911.
The suspect is possibly a Latino male with an accent and is described as being short in stature. No other information about the suspect is known at this time. Information about the victim is being withheld pending family notifications.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting with this investigation. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Marshalltown Fire Department and Unity Point Ambulance Service all responded to the initial 911 calls for this incident.
