Jones and four others were charged in the case. According to the Fort Dodge Messenger, the state learned additional information that led it to drop the murder charges.

Murder charges dropped for 1 of 5 men accused in Fort Dodge slayings

FORT DODGE, Iowa — Murder charges have been dismissed for a Fort Dodge man accused in a June 2020 double homicide case.
Darrell Jones, 23, was facing two counts of second-degree murder after a deadly shooting that killed 25-year-old Jamael Cox and 47-year-old Tyrone Cunningham.
However, the Messenger reports Jones is now facing new charges including intimidation with a dangerous weapon.
His new arraignment is scheduled for Monday.
