No injuries reported after a house fire in Cedar Rapids

Cedar Rapids, Iowa – On July 22, Cedar Rapids Fire Department firefighters were sent to 1933 Higley Ave. SE after a neighbor reported smoke coming from the single family house around 9:20 p.m.

When crews arrived, they discovered a large fire in the kitchen.

Crews entered the house immediately and put out the fire.

There were no people in the house at the time of the fire.

The kitchen was seriously damaged by the fire. The first floor and portions of the second floor were significantly damaged by smoke.

Investigation about the cause of the fire is ongoing.
