Officers searching for woman who escaped from detention
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – On Monday night a 42-year-old woman escaped from detention while being treated at a nearby hospital, according to police officers.
Michell Allene Brashear was being detained at the Linn County Jail on suspicion of second-degree robbery and giving fake identity. On Monday evening, approximately 8:15 p.m., she was transported to Mercy Medical Center for medical care. Medical personnel realized Brashear had escaped the facility at 9:30 p.m.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office and the Cedar Rapids Police Department searched the area but were unable to locate Brashear.
