Person dead after single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 151
Authorities say a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 151 left one person dead.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a crash between Marion and Springville near Highway 151’s intersection with Stone Road. After arriving at the scene, deputies found a vehicle in the water of Crabapple Creek.
Witnesses say that the 2006 Mercury Mountaineer crashed into the water when it left the roadway.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His name will not be released until his family is notified.
Inside the vehicle there were no other passengers.
The cause of the crash is unknown. Investigation is underway.
