Person injured after gunfight in Cedar Rapids, investigation ongoing
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – According to law enforcement officials, one individuals has been hurt after gunfight on early Saturday morning.
Cedar Rapids police officers were dispatched in the 700 block of G Avenue NW around 4:42 a.m. to a report of gunshots.
Two persons shot at one another at the scene. Officers believe that the shooters knew each other.
One of the shooters suffered injuries following the shooting and fled the area in a vehicle, according to witnesses.
Later that morning, a 39-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds arrived with the vehicle at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s Hospital.
Investigation is underway.
