St. Luke’s ER treated five people with fireworks related injuries in Cedar Rapids

Cedar Rapids, Iowa – Every year UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Emergency Room (ER) has an increased number of patients with fireworks related injuries on 4^th of July.

For this 4^th of July weekend, St. Luke’s ER staff treated five people for fireworks injuries.

The individuals suffered injuries as follows:

• Firework to upper chest
• Burn on legs
• Firework to arm and chest
• Two people (individually) were treated for ash/foreign body to the eye.
