Iowa City, Iowa – Caitlin Clark, a legend in Hawkeye history and a superstar in the WNBA, has yet another accolade to add to her impressive résumé.
On Tuesday, Clark received the honor of being named Time Magazine’s Athlete of the Year for 2024.
Clark has experienced a remarkable year in 2024. In February, she achieved the remarkable feat of becoming the all-time NCAA scoring leader for both women and men. In the following month, she and her teammates were set to secure their most recent Big Ten Tournament championship.
Clark continued her impressive performance into April, guiding Iowa to their second straight Final Four and National Championship Game appearance, where the Hawkeyes were defeated by South Carolina, 87-75.
Only a week following the conclusion of the season, the Indiana Fever selected Clark as the first overall pick in the WNBA Draft. Clark has swiftly established herself in the WNBA. She set multiple league records and led Indiana to its first playoff appearance since 2016.
