VOLUNTEERS AND SUPPLIES NEEDED IN CEDAR RAPIDS
“The Iowa Derecho Storm Resource Page is looking for more volunteers and donations.”
If you want to pitch in and help with the clean up, head on over to 4850 Armar Drive in SE Cedar Rapids. The location is the Keller Williams Legacy Group.
If you are unable to help but would like to drop off a donation, there will be someone at the location until 7 p.m. tonight. The following items are needed:
- Coolers
- Extension Cords
- Lanterns (Battery Operated)
- Flashlights
- Large Trash Bags
- Paper Towels
- Canned Meat
- Sandwiches
- Toiletries
- Tarps
So far, organizers have been able to serve over 4000 hot meals and have raised over $55,000. That’s what makes our city so great, people always pull together to help when it’s needed the most.
This has been a long 7 days for all of us and for some it’s not getting better. Right now, there are still over 55,000 people in Eastern Iowa without electricity. Crews are out right now, and let’s hope in the next couple of days everyone will have power.
If you want to schedule a time to volunteer, organizers are asking that you text (319) 432-9754. In the message, include your name and availability and someone will get back to you right away.

Let’s all do our best to help those in need right here in Cedar Rapids.
