Meat recalled after possibility of salmonella contamination
Authorities are asking Americans to check their refrigerators for recalled meat that might be contaminated with salmonella enteritidis.
Nearly 60,000 pounds of frozen, fresh, breaded, and pre-browned stuffed chicken products from Serenade Foods are being recalled. The chicken were packed on 24th and 25th of February and delivered all across the nation.
The recall comes due to investigation of salmonella outbreak in 8 states, conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.
According to a news statement, boxes of this chicken were discovered at the home of the person who got sick. Authorities also advise to double-check food that appear to be ready-to-eat but might be fresh and must be cooked before eating.
