Cedar Rapids police arrested a teenager after firing shots at person
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – A teenager was taken into custody on Sunday afternoon after discharging a handgun at someone in Cedar Rapids, according to police.
After conducting an investigation, police determined the victim, a 33-year-old man who was not injured by the rounds, had engaged in an argument between neighbors when a 17-year-old boy took out a handgun and fired it at him. After that, he departed in a blue Ford pickup truck.
The incident occurred at 5 p.m. near 196 15th Avenue Southwest, and fortunately, no one was injured, according to police.
Officers were able to locate the blue SUV and stop it in the 2100 block of 16th Avenue Southwest.
The handgun that was used in the shooting was discovered in the vehicle by the police. The teenager was charged with Intimidation with a Weapon and Interference with Official acts and was taken into custody.
