Pandemic illness prompts the Forest City school district to switch to remote learning
Forest City, Iowa – Because of the widespread illness, a school district in the north-central part of Iowa has decided to implement a remote learning program for the remainder of the week.
According to the directors of Forest City School, viral illnesses such as influenza, strep throat, and stomach flu have been rapidly spreading.
Over ten percent of elementary school pupils have been absent from school over the past two days, and there have also been noteworthy absences at the middle school and high school levels.
PK-12 will transition to e-learning on Thursday and Friday, according to the officials of the district.
All school buildings are expected to be closed to students and staff, except practices for events that take place during the school year and the High School Pops concert that will take place on Thursday.
The return of in-person classes is anticipated to take place on Monday. Check out the notice that is posted on the website of the district for further details.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the flu is at a high level in the state of Iowa.
