Annual free holiday meal to be held in Cedar Rapids
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – The community is invited to attend Jefferson High School’s eighth annual free holiday meal, which will be held at 1243 20th Street SW in Cedar Rapids.
The event will take place from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15.
This annual event, presented by the Jefferson High School Student Council and supported by donors, is back and ready to spread holiday spirit after taking a year off due to the pandemic.
This year it will be held in the west gym to allow for social distance. Unless they are eating, attendees are required to wear masks.
A hot meal includes turkey gravy, potatoes, a vegetable, a homemade dessert, and a beverage.
CR Network, a non-profit helping Cedar Rapids’ Westside kids, will take free-will donations.
More than 10,000 meals have been delivered through this yearly event since it began in 2011.
