Cyclones beat Northern Iowa in a dramatic game
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – Iowa State started the season with its greatest preseason rating ever, but they might become the victim of the biggest upset in college football since Appalachian State stunned No. 5 Michigan in 2007.
Northern Iowa, an NCAA FCS school, kept the Cyclones offense on its toes the entire game. Iowa State quarterback Brock Purdy was the most consistent performer for the Cyclones, completing 21 of 26 passes for 197 yards.
Breece Hall, an All-America running back who rushed for 1,572 yards and 5.6 yards per carry last season, had 69 yards on 23 carries on Saturday.
