Deputy William Halverson recognized as the Linn County Sheriff’s Office’s Deputy of the Year for 2021
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – Deputy William Halverson of the Linn County Sheriff’s Office has been named the office’s Deputy of the Year for 2021.
Deputies nominated Halverson for the award because he was always willing to help, had a positive attitude, and was constantly devoted.
He was shot many times when responding to a robbery at the Casey’s on Highway 13 near Coggon last June, and he was hospitalized for three weeks as a result of his injuries.
The trial for the man accused of the shooting and robbery will take place this summer.
