Man killed by Iowa Falls police identified
Iowa Falls, Iowa – The man shot and killed by police in Iowa Falls on December 8 has been identified by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
According to reports, Jared Risius, 34, of Eldora, was the man slain in Iowa Falls.
Police said a woman Risius used to date reached out to them asking for help on Wednesday. He was allegedly stalking her.
Officers arrived on the scene and saw him crash into the woman’s vehicle. He was then told to exit the car by the police. He resisted, brandishing a shotgun and attempting to run. That’s when the cops opened fire.
The Iowa Department of Corrections is still investigating the shooting. The investigation’s results will be sent to the Iowa Attorney General’s Office.
