Man succumbed to injuries after single-vehicle collision

Cedar Rapids, Iowa – On Monday, a Cedar Rapids man died as a result of injuries sustained in a single-vehicle collision near Palo.
Randy Deaton, of Cedar Rapids, was traveling southbound in the 3900 block of Lewis Bottoms Road when he lost control, according to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.
He collided with a mailbox before falling into the ditch.
Deaton was airlifted to a nearby hospital but died of his injuries on Tuesday, according to police.
