Coralville, Iowa – The Mason Light House Inaugural Pickleball Tournament has been rescheduled until next month, but registration is still open.

After being rescheduled for this weekend, the new date is November 10.

The event’s proceeds will be used to finish the hospice and pediatric respite care facility.

Mason’s Light House founder Shanna Sieck explained that the home will serve as a respite for families and children with medically complicated conditions, providing a break from the challenges of managing a disease. In addition, it will offer end-of-life care and a location to support families while they grieve.

After having to go to one for their son, Sieck claimed they were inspired to establish the place.

“We took our youngster to Crescent Cove in Minneapolis after hearing about it. After about a five-hour drive, my husband commented to me, “I feel like every state needs one of these homes,” as we made our way home.

According to Sieck, they intend to open the Iowa City house in the upcoming two years.

She added that the pickleball competition will be a fantastic way to promote their cause in addition to helping to raise money.
