More layoffs for Waterloo John Deere workers
Waterloo, Iowa – According to Iowa Workforce Development’s WARN Notifications, 112 John Deere employees in eastern Iowa will be laid off starting today.
The Waterloo Works factory, which produces some of John Deere’s bigger farming equipment, is where this round of layoffs is taking place.
Citing difficult market conditions and limited product demand, the firm announced the layoffs on December 3.
These layoffs follow the Davenport layoffs of 80 John Deere workers a few days prior.
More than 1,700 John Deere workers in Iowa have lost their employment since the beginning of 2024, with the majority of these layoffs occurring in Waterloo.
