Police looking for a suspect responsible for shooting a man in Washington
Washington, Iowa – Washington police are looking for an individual who shot a man on Friday night. The man called 911 to report he had been shot and was asking for help, according to Washington Police Chief Jim Lester.
Upon arrival at the intersection of South Iowa and East Monroe, officers found the man with a single gunshot wound. He was transferred to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment. The severity of the victim’s injuries has not been disclosed by the authorities.
Investigation showed the victim was shot in the 600 block of West Adams. Authorities said there is no danger to the public because they believe the shooting was targeted.
