Ribbon-cutting ceremony planned for reopening of Boyson’s Trail bridge
Marion, Iowa – A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled on Monday afternoon for the reconstruction of the railroad bridge over Indian Creek.
Since being closed for almost a year due to the reconstruction, Boyson’s Trail bridge will now be reopened to pedestrians and bicyclists with new piers and paving.
The ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m. in Marion. Attendees are asked to park at Thomas Park and walk to the bridge.
The reconstruction of the bridge is part of the CeMar Trail project, which intends to connect trails between Uptown Marion and Downtown Cedar Rapids. The gateway bridge over Marion Boulevard will be built in the following phase of the project.
