Cedar Rapids, Iowa – The search for a city employee who went missing when his vehicle sank in the Cedar River is still going on almost two weeks after his disappearance.

During the evening shift of Friday, May 6, 54-year-old Erik Spaw worked at the Northwest Water Treatment Plant.

After spending most of his shift at the Northwest Plant, his coworkers at the J Avenue Plant informed management that he had not returned to work there on Saturday morning. Spaw’s car was last seen around Ellis Road NW, according to available information.

After some time, the crews discovered the truck submerged in the Cedar River.

City officials said the search for Spaw will continue over the next several days along the river.

The focus of the search is still on the point of entry to below the roller dam.
