Authorities investigating drive-by shooting in Cedar Rapids
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – The Cedar Rapids Police Department has confirmed a report of a drive-by gunshot that happened on the southeast side of the city in the early morning hours of Monday.
According to a statement posted on their Facebook page, Cedar Rapids police officers were sent to the vicinity of 19th St. and 5th Ave. SE after many reports of shots being fired in the area were received.
In addition, the Joint Communications Center got a call from a residence in the same neighborhood reporting that their home had been fired on.
According to police, video footage from a doorbell camera shows a white or silver hatchback or small SUV moving westbound on 5th Avenue as a passenger in the car fires at the residence.
At this moment, there are no reported injuries or suspects.
