Investigation underway into a possible road rage incident involving a shooting
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – The incident that occurred overnight on the city’s southeast side is still being investigated by the Cedar Rapids Police Department.
On Monday evening, law enforcement officials said that they were alerted about shots being fired from one vehicle to another in the 800 block of 15th Street SE.
The vehicle that was shot at was travelling south on 15th Street SE and had two people inside.
The officers have been informed by the victims that a white SUV with an unknown number of passengers opened fire on them as it was driving by. According to the police, the driver of the car that was shot at said that the shooting was prompted by a possible instance of road rage.
Both the driver and the passenger were taken to a nearby hospital, where they were treated for injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.
